built on experience.
Supported by technology.

Most consultants learn their trade by moving between clients and industries. I know because I used to train them. Our experience covers over thirty years across multiple sectors, including fatal incident investigations and HSE enforcement action.

Field Notes

The problems we keep finding

Over the years, we have seen the same issues turn up in very different organisations. Paperwork you cannot find when an auditor asks for it. Legal registers nobody has checked against the actual legislation. Checks that nobody checks to make sure the checker actually checked. Policies written over ten years ago that no longer describe what you do. Responsibilities written down, but owned by nobody.

These Field Notes come from the work itself. Any consultancy can say it understands your business. Start with the one that looks familiar.

How we work

How we use technology

You cannot turn around without hearing about artificial intelligence. It is in the news, in adverts and all over social media, usually followed by the promise that it will make life easier.

We use it, but we do not leave it to do the job. Technology speeds up the process. Knowledge and experience stop it wandering off down the garden path.

01
Start with the business
  • Understand the business Human
  • Identify the hazards Human
  • Define what good looks like Human
HumanThis stage belongs to you. AI has never walked the site, met the people, or seen how the work really runs. Understanding the business, spotting the real hazards and deciding what good looks like is judgement, not retrieval.
02
Prove it against the law
  • Locate the source AI
  • Evaluate applicability Human
  • Cross reference the requirements Human
AIIdentifies the likely legislation and pulls the requirements together in minutes.
HumanVerifies every entry against primary source, decides what actually applies to you, and cross references it to the evidence.
03
Build and verify
  • Produce the document AI
  • Check against the evidence Human
  • Chartered sign off Human
AIProduces the first draft from the verified framework, removing the labour of the blank page.
HumanChecks it against the evidence, removes fabricated references, unsupported claims and obvious errors, and signs it off as a chartered practitioner.
AI hallucination in compliance documents
AI produces confident, plausible-looking legislative references that do not exist. Without domain expertise those references go into your legal register unchecked.
Correct is not the same as safe
An AI output can be grammatically correct, structurally sound, and legally wrong simultaneously. Spotting that gap requires someone who knows the regulation.
What clients say

In their words

What clients, colleagues and industry professionals say once the work is done.

If it has already happened, ring.

Straight through to a chartered practitioner. If I am on a site or in a hearing you will get a call back from me the same day, not a form and a queue.

Free document review

Not sure where you stand? Send one document: a policy, a risk assessment, a RAMS pack. A chartered practitioner will tell you whether it holds up and where it needs work. Free. No obligation, and no sales nonsense.
